What BasketScope is

An independent analytics product built on official standard box-score data. It provides:

  • historical player and team statistics from the 2000–01 EuroLeague season onward;
  • player-season profiles, game and player box scores;
  • comparisons, rankings and the BasketScope Rating;
  • advanced metrics derived from standard box-score data;
  • squad-building and analytical tools.

Its ratings, advanced metrics, written explanations, rankings and visual presentation are independently developed by BasketScope.

What BasketScope is not

To keep expectations honest, BasketScope is not:

  • an official competition service, statistic or award;
  • a scouting grade, player valuation or transfer-market price;
  • a statement of a player’s complete ability, role or future value;
  • a source of lineup, play-by-play, on/off or matchup data.

It is a descriptive, box-score-based tool for exploration and comparison — nothing more is claimed.

Data and coverage

BasketScope currently focuses on the EuroLeague era from the 2000–01 season onward. Source coverage and available detail vary by season, and some fields are unavailable for parts of the historical record.

Recorded, derived, estimated and profile metrics are labelled distinctly, and a missing value is shown as unavailable rather than invented. The Data & methodology page explains each metric type, the source attribution and how ranks qualify.

BasketScope Rating

The BasketScope Rating is one independent number per player-season, combining official standard box-score production, efficiency, playmaking, ball security, rebounding, defensive production and role, normalized within each season and broad position group.

It is an independent analytical measure — not an official award or an exact impact score — and limited samples are clearly marked provisional. Full details are in the Data & methodology.

Independence and rights

BasketScope is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, approved by or endorsed by Euroleague Basketball, its affiliated entities, participating clubs, players or other competition rights holders.

References to competitions, clubs and players are used to identify the subject matter of the analysis. BasketScope aims to present basketball information in a way that respects source ownership, trademarks and legitimate rights-holder concerns.
